Back in September 2019, Dignitas, formerly Team Dignitas, announced their plans to return to professional Counter-Srike: Global Offensive, a game with serious Dignitas history. They announced their roster on Tuesday and it features many familiar faces. Fans who followed the legendary Ninjas in Pyjamas roster from the past will be surprised.
Dignitas competed within CS:GO many years ago and the community quickly fell in love with the organization. They went a whole season undefeated, still talked about to this day. CS:GO fans across the world are excited about their return. With this roster announcement, Dignitas faces lots of excitement as they reunite a historic roster with a twist.
Dignitas brings back one of the most legendary CS:GO rosters of all time. The Ninjas in Pyjamas roster that went 87–0 back in 2012 and 2013. Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg, Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund, Richard “Xizt” Landstrom and Adam “friberg” Friberg will reunite to play under Dignitas in 2020. And the fifth player in Dignitas’ new roster is Norwegian talent Hakon “hallzerk” Fjærli who most recently played for Nordavind.
But there’s still one name missing from that historic Ninjas in Pyjamas roster. Robin “Fifflaren” Johansson, who retired from playing CS:GO in 2014. Now, Fifflaren meets his former NiP teammates as the coach and manager of the new Dignitas roster.
CS:GO’s esports scene grows in excitement as legends of the scene return to play alongside each other once again. It’s fitting that an organization with such a rich history in the scene bases its new roster around legendary moments in CS:GO history.
It’s safe to say many will be following and supporting Dignitas in their return to CS:GO. It’ll be interesting to watch how the old guard faces up against the new talent of today. 2020 hosts many big matchups in CS:GO and Dignitas will be at the forefront.
