Apex Legends Design Director Jason McCord unveiled some new map updates for Apex Legends Season 6. World’s Edge will propose more options, especially on Launch Site, Countdown, Staging, and the Survey Camp. A new Apex Season 6 map mechanic called Rising Walls is also added into the game.

Developers used the community’s feedback to enhance the user experience and bring new features to World’s Edge. They focused on improving possible plays near lava, proposing better rotations, and introducing a new gameplay mechanic to keep the game fresh.

Drill Site is no more and a massive Hammond building replaces it. Coming along with it are new rising walls that can be activated to gain more height and a tactical advantage.

A new deep center pit will be a tough battleground because of its open environment. Even though it features better drops, players must take risks in order to secure these. Countdown is a high-risk, high-reward location.

This part of the map was one of the less interesting parts of the map. Only a small town is present under the train track and a shortage of loot means players don’t visit often. The completely new facility adds more vertical play, especially with rising walls to create cover.

Next, developers gave Launch Site a completely new atmosphere. What once was an unoccupied lava field is now a facility designed to launch a giant rocket ship. Featuring four control rooms, players can expect to find tons of loot. This will certainly be a hot zone for the new Apex Legends Season 6 map.

Before the Apex Legends Season 6 map updates, Survey Camp was a poor choice for landing or rotating. Now, it features train tunnels, filled with loot, that allow players to take cover. A new cut-through was implemented to move from Survey Camp to SkyHook.

The rising wall is a completely new mechanic that can be used to fortify a player’s position. After activating it, the giant blast wall will rise to provide an easily defendable platform. However, players need to always on alert since some Legends with vertical options can still surprise them.

The train no longer runs on World’s Edge. This means that tunnels can easily be accessed for all players. Lava Fissure also includes a new geyser, making the deep sulfur river a bit easier to cross.

All of these new additions will spark the interest of many fans. While the new mechanic provides an interesting new way to outsmart an opponent, the Apex Legends Season 6 map changes are here to keep fans excited.
